For a Kusatsu Onsen sightseeing stay where you want to keep accommodation costs down, this is a good option. I could park my motorcycle in a covered garage, so rain wasn't a worry. The memory foam pillow was quite high.

I've already booked my next stay, even though I just got back. This was my 19th visit to Kusatsu Onsen and my first time at Azalea. With accommodation prices rising so much lately, I was at my wit's end and picked Azalea because it was incredibly reasonable. It turned out to be a great choice: the room and bath were perfect, and despite being by a main road, it was very quiet. It's not a luxury inn, but it suited our trip since we like eating and drinking out. Toriyagura next door is run by Azalea, and their fried chicken and omelets are exquisite. I can't wait to go back!

For the price, I thought the facilities were reasonable. The hot spring bath is available around the clock. Nearby, there are supermarkets and convenience stores, plus a coin laundry, bakery, and what might be a Happy Science bookstore. Toothbrushes, towels, pajamas and similar items can be rented. There is a microwave and hair dryer in the hallway. The room smelled bad, and the walls are thin, so light sleepers or anyone bothered by noise may want to avoid it. The bathroom entrance was left wide open. There was a privacy screen, but I think an automatic closing door would have been better.

It felt like a dormitory for a training camp. No amenities were provided, and towels and other items cost an extra 1,200 yen. The duvet had no sheet cover, and I found fuzzy hair on the pillow. There was also an additional 550 yen utilities charge.
