Livemax Resort Kusatsuonsen

The rooms are spacious, and the sink area and washroom seemed recently renovated. But the beds were disgusting: both blankets had stains inside and out, so we turned up the heat and used bathrobes instead. The walk is steep and rough with luggage. There are probably better options at the same price along the main strip, so I wouldn't recommend this place.

The staff were kind, but they didn't offer a practical solution. There was no shuttle from the station, the room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the phone was broken. For thousands of dollars, the quality was disappointing.

Hitoshi checked us in enthusiastically and even suggested places to see nearby. The facilities were great, and it felt like good value. A must visit when you're in Kusatsu.

It was warm throughout, from the lobby to the corridors and room, with air conditioning everywhere. The food was great too. A great onsen hotel, highly recommended.
