BEWARE!! There was no local support or emergency number, only a team in the Philippines. When the fire alarm went off at night, it took an hour to get a response. Management's solution was to disable the fire system for two days, which put us at risk. They made several attempts to delay and obscure things to deny wrongdoing or avoid resolving the issue. The property manager was unsafe. Stay at your own risk. We also had problems with the unit. The heating is a steam system, and the controls had no effect, so it would be sweltering hot or randomly freezing cold. From the bedroom, you can see someone on the toilet through a glass wall with inadequate blinds. An emergency exit sign over the bed made the bedroom bright as day at night. There wasn't enough parking for the units, and the fit and finish were beat up, so the photos were likely from years ago. The tub is large and the water pressure is good. For a luxury-priced property, you can do better.

On a sunny day, the top villa has an amazing view of Mt Yotei from the living room. The other two villas are perfect for couples.

Google Maps shows the building one street down, so watch out for that. There are three accommodation types, Sekkani 1, 2, and 3. Sekkani 2 and 3 are maisonettes. Before arrival, they text you to ask what time you'll get there, then come to open the door. I was lucky to get upgraded from Sekkani 1 to 2, at no extra cost. The price stayed just over 100,000 yen for 10 nights. Maybe because I was there for 10 nights, the fridge had enough breakfast ingredients for three days: bread, eggs, bacon, milk, orange juice, margarine, and coffee beans. The living room was spacious, with a sofa, low table, dining table and chairs. The kitchen had a fridge, dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave, rice cooker, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, and washing machine. Upstairs, the bathroom, toilet, and laundry area were all in the same space, which takes some skill to use. The bedroom had two single beds. I was happy with everything except the lack of air conditioning. We came from Kagoshima to escape the summer heat, but the unexpected heat on the first day was a real challenge, and the room was too hot to stay in during the day. Mornings and evenings were cooler, so we left the screened windows open all day. But the nocturnal frogs made a loud chorus until around 3am, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive. There's an ashtray outside the entrance. Since we stayed a long time, staff came twice to change the towels and clean the room. In winter, the walk up to the gondola station seems quite long because it's steep. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many shops in central Niseko Hirafu were closed. There was one nearby izakaya (Japanese pub) open, which was a relief.
