The beds squeak badly, and the toilet seat had no lid. There’s nowhere to put clean clothes while showering, and privacy could be an issue if you’re traveling with someone outside your family. The location is fine, but there isn’t much open within a 10 minute walk. It’s cheap for a reason. If you don’t mind walking 20 minutes to get to things, it might work for you.

The pillows were paper-thin and hard as rocks, and the bed was extremely stiff. It also squeaked and screeched so much that other people could wake you up by accident. The room might be okay in size for one person, but it’s apparently meant for four, which seems ridiculous. The location wasn’t great either, though maybe not the absolute worst. There was a hidden cleaning fee of 7000 yen for two nights, more than the stay itself. The room wasn’t even clean, with a wet towel hidden behind the bed. I don’t know if that was deliberate or an accident, but either way it shouldn’t have happened. There was no staff at reception, and once you’d paid, you couldn’t cancel and seemed trapped. Don’t make my mistake. I’d rather pay more. Please don’t stay here, for your own good.

We had to change rooms, and the new room hadn’t even been cleaned. Now we’re trying to get a refund, though earlier reviews make me doubt we’ll receive one. It’s self check-in, but we didn’t get the entry or room codes by email until after 8pm, even though check-in was supposed to start at 5pm. A staff member, maybe from cleaning, let us in and gave us codes for the wrong room. At night, people who had booked that room tried to come in while we were there, because we were meant to be in another room and hadn’t been told. Nobody answers the phone. Email is the only way to contact them, and even that gives you only half the information. Don’t stay here.

It’s a shame, because this place has a lot of potential, but the management is poor and communication is almost nonexistent. Watch out. Agoda showed a price, but without my knowing it, they charged that amount plus local taxes to my credit card. Then the room instructions insisted I pay the taxes, which I left behind at checkout. So it seemed they’d taken the tax payment twice. The first mattress I slept on was also full of bedbugs. After getting numerous bites, I had to move to the other bed.
