The duplex layout made the stay especially comfortable. There’s a living area, toilet, and separate bathroom downstairs, with the bedroom and another separate toilet and bathroom upstairs. It gave us plenty of room and privacy, especially with multiple guests, and the bed was comfortable after long days out in Kyoto. One More Heart at Kyoto Station South 5 is newly built and well looked after, with clean, modern facilities. It felt homey while still having thoughtful design and amenities. Kyoto Station is about a five-minute walk away, handy for getting around, eating, shopping, and taking day trips. I stayed there in September 2024 and had a fantastic experience. I’d happily come back.

We had to book another hotel because the bed situation was so bad. One of the beds literally collapsed five minutes after we got there. Calling the sofa suitable for sleeping is pretty dumb too, it feels like a rock and isn't shaped for lying comfortably. The kettle took 15 minutes to heat up, and the tatami mats by the toilets smelled like piss.

Handy location near Kyoto Station, in a quiet area, and good value. The layout works well for families, two households, or a group, with a living room downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. There are showers and toilets on both floors, so you can arrange the space in different ways. ^ ^
