Guesthouse Bon

The room and futons were comfortable, and I slept really well. Each room is private, while the shared shower, kitchen, and toilets were clean and convenient. Some parts are outdoors, which could feel chilly in winter, though in other seasons it adds charm. The neighborhood around Daitoku-ji has lots of beautiful temples and feels local and peaceful, with no crowds. It looks a bit far from Kyoto Station and the center on a map, but it's only about 10-15 minutes by bus. When I checked out, the owner noticed my heavy backpacks and offered to drive me to the nearest subway station. He was incredibly thoughtful throughout: right when I arrived, he drew two different two-day routes on a map and explained the buses and subways to take. It was one of the warmest welcomes I've had. Thank you for everything. I'd recommend staying here, it's absolutely worth it.

The place itself has a charm I'll remember, but Bon's kindness and hospitality touched me most. Our stay at Guesthouse Bon was short, and I hope we can come back someday. Thanks so much for hosting us.

Even after leaving Kyoto, I still think about the day I spent at Guesthouse Bon and feel grateful for everything that happened during my stay. The guesthouse was cozy and clean, and the other guests were polite and kept things as quiet as they could during rest hours. The owner was warm and sincere, communicated easily in English, and gave me lots of useful travel tips. This was the most memorable part of my trip to Japan.

The house has a lot of character, from the dining room to the bedrooms, and it's clean enough that sharing the space didn't feel uncomfortable. You can cook and wash your clothes there. Bon Guesthouse is in a quiet part of the city, away from the crowds and noise, but easy to reach by public transport. Our friendly host spoke English and Spanish, gave us explanations and tips, and helped us find the places we were looking for. We had a great stay, many thanks.
