The kitchen was stocked well enough for us to make sukiyaki one evening, and the guidebook for the appliances came in handy since the controls usually weren’t in English. We never got the dishwasher working, even after staff explained how to fix it. Just before checkout they told us washing the dishes wasn’t necessary, which was a relief. There was plenty of room for our group: a large living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry, bathroom, washroom, and small garden downstairs, plus two Western bedrooms, a Japanese-style bedroom, and another washroom upstairs. The renovation looked nice and the place was very clean. I also liked the heated floors and lack of carpet, since carpet can be hard to judge for cleanliness. The nearest metro, coffee shop, and supermarket were about a 10-minute walk away, so the location wasn’t ideal, though getting an Uber as a group was easy and affordable. I’d stay here again with three or more people if I return to Kyoto.
