The rooms have a cute traditional feel, with tatami floors and futons, and everything was clean. The appliances are a little old, but they worked fine. It’s affordable and tucked into a quiet residential area, with both buses and trams easy to reach. The man at reception was really nice. I’d recommend it.
The host was lovely and even gave me an omiyage when I left. I felt at home here: the guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and well looked after, in a calm neighborhood with a few late-opening places and konbinis nearby. I visited in mid-April, and the heating on the AC plus a small extra heater kept things pleasant despite the cold. There’s a bus stop close by, though the train stations are about a 15-minute walk. Keep in mind that large suitcases can’t go on the buses. I really enjoyed my stay.
The host made our stay especially enjoyable with how friendly and helpful they were, and we got a small gift when we left. The place itself is simple and comfortable, with a traditional feel. I had a wonderful time in Kyoto and would happily recommend staying here.
We chose this place because it worked well for visiting Arashiyama bamboo grove, even though it’s a bit out west in Kyoto. Our dorm had a traditional ryokan feel, with comfortable futons. There’s a basic kitchen with cups, bowls, a microwave, a heater, and a mini fridge. The host was very friendly and gave us tea when we left.
After a busy day, it was a lovely place to come back to and get some rest away from the city. There’s a bus stop right in front, two big supermarkets nearby, and several convenience stores. The room was comfortable, and the owner was kind and helpful. A nice onsen is a short distance away, and Arashiyama forest is also fairly close. Highly recommended.
