Gyozanen

Sleeping on futon and tatami was a first for us, and it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. We also loved dinner, with delicious kaiseki and sukiyaki full of seasonal flavors and beautifully presented. Ohara Seryo's peaceful countryside setting and carefully kept gardens made it easy to unwind, and the nearby temples added a lovely cultural side to our walks. The staff were warm and attentive throughout. We were enchanted by the whole stay and would go back in a heartbeat. ❤️ Thank you for everything.

The setting was peaceful and full of lovely scenery, and the food was excellent. I had the Kaiseki dinner, with dishes that were beautiful, healthy, and delicious, and breakfast was simple but really tasty. My tatami room had a lovely garden view, and I liked the design a lot. They provided a yukata with a cardigan and comfy pajamas. The onsen felt especially romantic at night. The amenities were premium too, including Pola shampoo and body wash and Kose Sekkisei face lotion. This was the dream ryokan I'd spent so long looking for, like the ones in manga. Nothing to criticize, it was absolutely worth it, and I hope I can return.

The staff's warm hospitality, the ryokan's beautiful garden, and four restful days in the outdoor bath made this a dreamlike break from fatigue. For dinner, I tried kaiseki, sukiyaki, and shabu-shabu, and enjoyed the distinctive Japanese flavors. I usually skip breakfast because it doesn't agree with me, but Seyo's meal had such a rich range of healthy ingredients that I felt better the more I ate. I'd like to come back in summer to experience O'Hara then. Thank you.

We only spent one night here after several days in Tokyo, and I wish we'd added another. It was the relaxing getaway we needed, and one of our favorite experiences of the trip. The place is a little out of the way and somewhat pricey, which made me hesitate at first, but it was worth every penny. The whole atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. We hope to come back soon!
