Hostel Kyoto Arashiyama

A lovely base for visiting the Arashiyama sights, just minutes from the bamboo forest, monkey park, and tenryuji temple. The owners were kind and gave helpful directions to places away from the usual tourist path. One morning they even drove me out early to see the sunrise in the local nature preservation area.

We had a lovely time here. The hostel was clean and well looked after, and the owner was really friendly and helpful. It's well placed for exploring lots of beautiful spots nearby. Thanks for the hospitality, and I hope we cross paths again someday.

The quiet atmosphere was a welcome break from the crowds, and the couple who run the place are lovely. Their food is tasty and inexpensive, with a discount for guests. The room is small, but clean and well equipped, even the luggage stored under the bed was dust-free. It’s only a minute from the Arashiyama Randen exit, so arriving late is easy even after the shopping streets have closed. There’s a convenience store nearby too.

I haven’t stayed here, but I visit the oden restaurant next door and its affiliated ramen shop about once a week. I think the food is good, with a distinctive flavor. The staff have been there for many years. The place is behind the former Arashiyama Misora ​​Hibari Hall site.
