Hostel Niniroom

I accidentally booked the wrong date and arrived without a room, but the staff moved my reservation by a day and charged only the extra city tax. I’m so grateful for how they handled it. The hotel is clean, thoughtfully designed, and well located. The shared washrooms felt private, and I was always comfortable using them. The only downside for me was that the beds were a little hard.

The dorms were cool, which was great, and the bunks felt private. It’s a very clean, attractive hostel, and the staff are personable, with most speaking very good English. Their recommendation sheets for local businesses were cute and genuinely helpful. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into the place. The main drawback was the loud mechanical locks on dorm doors, which woke me up. The downstairs cafe opens early, a real plus since many Japanese cafes don’t. I’d love it if they ever ran it as a bar some nights, since hostel bars can be fun places to meet locals in Japan. I loved my stay and wish the Niniroom team well.

We only stayed one night, but I’d gladly have stayed a hundred. The room is basic but thoughtfully designed, and the bathroom facilities were immaculate. The shower was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Don’t hesitate to book if you want a convenient base for exploring the area.

After staying in hostels across more than 34 European countries, I’d put this one well above the others. It’s nicely designed, spotless, and peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. An outstanding stay.
