Hotel Aru Kyoto Sanjo Kiyamachi-dori

I stayed in room 206 from October 3rd to October 5th. The area was excellent, with lots of restaurants nearby and about a ten-minute walk to the train station. Staff were friendly and helped ship my luggage to the next hotel. The room felt small and a bit claustrophobic. Its window was frosted, and there was just one wooden chair. It was pretty clean, as was the washroom, though there was some dust on the TV and desk. For a three-star hotel at this price, I can’t complain.

Friendly staff, and great for English speakers. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of room too. There are amenities and two bars. The location is GREAT, close to everything, and that A5 Wagyu place next door is INSANE. That restaurant and the location made this a perfect stay. I highly recommend it, comfy room, 5/5.

The location was fantastic and the customer service very good. They were really helpful about forwarding our luggage. The only issue was that the room got a little warm while we were out, though it cooled down within a few minutes of us coming back.

The staff are really friendly, the room is quiet, and the other amenities are fine. But we wish the pillow and shower situation were better. We asked for an extra pillow each and they were out. The shower head won’t stay put and rotates from the water pressure, making it a little hard to shower. The bed rolls around and blocks the outlets against the wall. It also randomly hits the light switches, and the shutters serve as the headboard, so any movement makes them noisy. There’s just one tiny trash can for the room, which wouldn’t be a big deal if it didn’t fill up with only two things. On our first night, those things left us a little frustrated.
