Hotel Dainichi-ji Temple Kyoto Kisshoin

I'm writing this on the shuttle to Kyoto station, after a stay at one of the best hotels I've been to. The service, people, and location were all amazing. It felt like being in the city and countryside at once, and everything is close by. Definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great stay for the price, with a lovely, very clean place and an incredible breakfast buffet. The only snag was that the blinds let in quite a bit of light and morning traffic was audible. That would probably bother light sleepers most.

The traditional Japanese breakfast is included in the reasonable room price, and the hotel runs a free shuttle to Kyoto station each morning. You can also arrange to be picked up there. It's a little far from the station otherwise, but I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the Japanese-style rooms were nicely decorated. The bathroom had a Western setup, with a rain shower, modern sink, and luxurious toilet.

The staff were super kind, and the rooms were quite comfortable. It's a very good Japanese-style hotel, and breakfast is traditional as well. The location isn't the best, but they offer a free shuttle to central Kyoto station in the morning and a return trip in the afternoon. If you plan your day ahead, you can book it and avoid the commute.
