The room stayed nicely cool, and breakfast was good. The place is close to Kyoto Station, handy for getting around. I do wish they provided at least one bottle of water, and 10 a.m. feels a little early when you want to enjoy the morning. It’s a good base for visiting Tokyo.

It’s a convenient spot near Aeon Mall and Kyoto Station, and the hotel is clean with nice people. I gave it four stars because the taxes were high and the included breakfast had few choices, with no way to opt out of the meal charge. I’d still recommend it for the location.

The location is handy, but the area was VERY crowded, which I really didn’t like. My room had older fixtures and the bathroom looked a bit dirty from its age, with mildew in the shower and sink crevices. There was hardly any natural light, so I felt like I was in a cave half the time. Not a bad experience overall, but I don’t think I’d stay here again.

The Kyoto train station is nearby, and the bus stops make it easy to reach pretty much all the sightseeing spots. That’s the main draw. Service is basic but adequate, and staff knew enough basic English to make check-in and checkout simple. The rooms are small, which is understandable for the price and shouldn’t be much of a surprise in Japan.

It’s about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and there’s an Aeon Mall literally next door. Very convenient.
