10/10
Our room was clean and had no odd or unpleasant smell. We got fresh towels the next day, and the rubbish was collected. Service was straightforward, and we could leave our bags when we arrived early. Just note that tax has to be paid before check-in at a dedicated machine. The hotel is about a 500-meter walk from Kyoto Central Station. There aren’t many food options around, but the neighborhood is fairly quiet.

The room had a smell I didn’t like. Still, the staff were kind and helpful, it was cheap, and Kyoto station was less than five minutes away. You can also walk to a famous temple.

It’s an easy, short walk from Kyoto Station, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The front desk offers limited help with bags: they’ll hold them before check-in, but not after checkout.

6/10
The room was clean and the bedding comfortable, and the location made it easy to reach transport, food, and shops. It’s a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Station. The air conditioner was dusty and needs a thorough cleaning. I was also disappointed by the impatient front desk staff, since courteous service matters. Fixing those issues would make a future stay better.

10/10
The room was clean and quiet, and it was just what I needed. For the money, this place is great. I’d seen the negative reviews, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. The new guy at the front spoke great English and was really nice and helpful.
