Grids Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Hotel&Hostel

We were impressed by how central Hotel Forza is. Gion is only a few blocks away, and the nearby metro and bus routes made getting to most attractions easy. The rooms were clean and fairly roomy compared with places we’ve stayed before, and the hotel feels modern and clean. We also enjoyed the free sake tasting each evening as a start to a night out. We’ll come back to Hotel Forza on our next trip to Kyoto.

The room was clean and the location was great, but what we’ll remember most is the help we got on 17-Jan-2026. My husband had a fever and flu symptoms from the evening of 16-Jan-2026, and he was still feverish the next morning. Since it was Saturday, the front desk staff helped us find a hospital, lent us a thermometer, and called the hospital to ask about the situation. We got there before it closed for the weekend, so my husband received treatment in time. We’re very grateful to those staff members. Everyone else at the hotel was helpful and friendly too. We’ll choose this hotel again when we next visit Kyoto.

The location worked especially well for us: Nishiki and the subway were both less than a five-minute walk away. The hotel had everything I wanted, from room size and cleanliness to the amenities, and then some. I loved the free sake, and the coffee machine made really good coffee. The face wash and cream were particularly nice quality. I’m going to look for Forza hotels on future trips to Japan.

I liked the lobby area where you can sit back and eat food you’ve bought outside, and there’s a free-flow espresso machine too. The rooms were nice and clean, and I enjoyed my stay. The location is very good as well, Exit 11 from the subway tunnel.
