HOTEL KANSO - Vacation STAY 88798

The room felt disappointing for what we paid per night. It was spacious, as in the photos, but not particularly well furnished with amenities. There’s a washing machine, though no dryer or clothes rack for drying things. You can borrow other items, like an iron, from the common area. The location is a strong point, with tourist spots, good food, and public transport nearby. Check-in was another hassle: the reception is a few minutes’ walk away in a separate building, but that wasn’t clear in the instructions. The self check-in directions were also hard to interpret.

The owner was very customer-friendly. When we needed extra cooking utensils, he was happy to bring them, and he also agreed to hold our luggage for a day while we went out exploring. Laundry worked well, and the microwave was useful. I could cook in the kitchen, though it only had one induction burner and a limited selection of utensils, which was fine for us. We stayed four days at Hotel Kanso and had a great time. The room had plenty of room for our three big bags, with space left to move around, and the bathroom was a good size with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The small balcony came in handy for hanging washed clothes. Lawson and the metro/train station are very close, with good connections. I really liked the stay and highly recommend it.

It’s a fairly new, modern hotel, and it was nice, clean, and quiet. The staff were very kind.

The area was close to everything but still very quiet. I’d definitely choose to stay here again on my next Kyoto trip.
