KABIN Taka

I stayed five nights and will be back. The room types and bed setups give you useful options depending on who you're traveling with, and the showers and kitchenettes in the rooms are incredible. It's a central, really clean hotel with surprisingly big rooms, a great fitness room and a café. There's even a smoking room in the building, which is a big plus for me. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are three Sister properties nearby, and one less than a block away has a café that opens earlier, handy if you're up early for coffee. I'd highly recommend it if you're traveling on a bit of a budget.

Kabin Taka was a lovely place to stay. The room was larger than I expected, the staff were friendly, and the location was excellent. Having laundry on site was handy too. It's a neat, very modern hotel chain with app check-in and no keys. We're in our late 60s and had no trouble using it. Highly recommend!

It's about a 10-minute walk to the main market street, and the hotel is still in a nice spot. The place was very clean, and the coffee was decent. There's no ice machine, in case that matters to you. Luggage storage is free, and laundry is available, 100 yen for drying and 400 yen for washing. The walk-in shower was nice, and the fancy toilets seem to be normal in Japan.

The quiet location worked well for us, with vending machines along the street and a supermarket close by. We spent five days here in Kyoto and found the stay comfortable and memorable. The room was surprisingly spacious and met my expectations. The layout was smart, with the sink separate from the toilet and shower room, and the bed was comfortable with the AC working well. They also supplied two different pillows. We got vouchers for free drinks, though we were already full from konbini food and drinks and never used them. The management provided the basic facilities guests need.
