Kyobu Karasuma Gojo

The deep, round tub was a highlight after long days of sightseeing, and having a McDonald’s and 7-11 close by was handy. Gojo station is only about a three-minute walk away, with plenty of bus stops nearby. Kyoto Station is a bit of a trek with bags, so I’d take a taxi on arrival. We stayed four nights in November 2020 after booking through Air BnB. There are two semi-double beds downstairs and a tatami loft upstairs, but the stairs are steep, so it may not suit small children. The bathroom is separate, though the shoji door doesn’t give much privacy. The neighborhood felt quieter and farther from the sights than we expected. We still enjoyed our stay, but anyone wanting to be near lots of shrines and temples might prefer Higashiyama or Gion. I think this place suits a couple or a family with four older children best.
