We booked this inn for two nights, but after arriving in Kyoto around 6 PM on the first night, we found ourselves killing at least four mosquitoes during the 20 minutes we were there. We rushed to find another hotel for both nights. When we contacted the owner, they said they’d refund only one night because we’d used the toilet.

The futons were comfortable to sleep on, and the rooms were clean with temperature controls. There were lots of neat little trinkets, and the place was decorated really nicely.

We stayed in the cottage for seven days. It was clean and well looked after, and the owner was very kind. The price was unbeatable for this old, distinctive Japanese-style cottage, which I’d highly recommend. The area is very quiet, set back from traffic but close to the canal. The station is a five-minute walk away, and there’s a grocery store nearby. Two bicycles are provided, and you can rent more at the PiPPA station next door.

We found this place in a quiet residential neighborhood, and the owner kindly came to meet us nearby even though we arrived ahead of schedule. My friend and I felt warmly welcomed and could relax. Everything was spotless, including the room, bathroom, and toilet. I loved the Japanese umbrella in the tatami room, and the lighting made such a nice atmosphere that I took photos. With the window open, a pleasant breeze came through, making early autumn in Kyoto cool and comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again.
