The river walk just about 100 feet away was gorgeous, especially with the sakura blooming when we visited. The renovated house was lovely, too, and close to good restaurants, a 7/11, and train stations. This was my favorite place to stay during my two-week trip around Japan.

An old machiya exterior with all the modern comforts inside. There are two toilets and two bathrooms, and seven people can sleep here comfortably. Shichijo metro station is about two minutes away, and Kiyomizudera is two bus stops away. Plenty of places to eat nearby, including a Sumo run chanko restaurant right across the street. We also loved walking along the Kamo River toward the city center.

The place was comfortable and well looked after, with a great location. There are lots of good quality restaurants nearby.

A newly renovated, lovely home in a great location. The beds were comfortable, and it had everything we needed.
