The rooms had plenty of space for our group of five, and the house included two bedrooms, one for two people and one for three. There was also a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and a bathroom. We found nearly every kind of kitchenware there, including an oven, microwave, and electric kettle, as well as a washing machine. The owner was very polite and nice, even though his English was limited. He had stocked lots of tableware, plastic bags, tissues, napkins, coffee bags, and tea bags. The nearest bus stop is a five-minute walk, and the train station is around fifteen minutes away on foot. There’s a family convenience store and a gas station very close by, plus a very great Nakau restaurant about a ten-minute walk away. We did miss the hostel the first time and spent a long time finding it. There’s no elevator, either. Still, if you’re traveling Kyoto on your own and want to cook at home, I think this place belongs on your list.

Amazing room, so huge, and the best price.

The overall environment is excellent, and the room was neat and clean with the necessary appliances and new equipment. Breakfast was included. The owner was very friendly and explained everything with a translator. The bathroom manual explains how to use the clothes dryer. It dehumidifies the clothes for three hours and dries them. There’s also a balcony drying area, but it’s very low, only about one piece of clothing high. There are five hangers, so I’d bring extra.
