Miru Kyoto Gion

We had the whole penthouse floor, with a two-room suite overlooking the mountains, a three-bed tatami room for our two children, and our own elevator. The rooms were high-end, with about 50m2 in total. The location is tucked away but right in the convenient part of Gion, behind the Shirakawa canal and close to Kamo river and Takashiyama. There’s a 7 eleven next door, and bike rental and parking just around the corner. The staff were great, and the free organic tea, coffee, croissants, and laundry service made this a 10 out of 10 stay.

We stayed in a traditional Japanese room, which was large by Japan standards, very new and modern, and had a small dining area. There are only a few rooms in this boutique hotel, and it sits in a quiet spot close to Gion’s main sights. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan. Highly recommended.

A lovely, quiet neighborhood with no street noise, plus plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops, and pleasant evening strolls nearby. It’s easy to get around and reach the hotel from Kyoto Station. The hotel is small and comfortable, with spacious, attractive rooms and wide, cozy beds and pillows. We brought lots of plush toys, and housekeeping arranged them so sweetly. Snorlax was tucked under a blanket in bed! The staff were always helpful, friendly, and spoke good English. There’s coffee, croissants, and jam for breakfast, and a bar open in the afternoon. The room also has useful suggestions for nearby places to eat, bike rentals, and other services. I’ll stay here again next time.

We had room 202 for five nights, and it was spacious, spotless, and had really comfortable beds. The front desk staff were so kind. It’s just minutes from two subway lines, with great food and quiet streets nearby, and 7-11 is right next door. The location was perfect.
