Miyako City Kintetsu Kyoto Station

Sightseeing was easy from here since every train, bus, and shop in the city is right at Kyoto Station. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were really friendly and helped us with directions. A great way to save time and energy.

After a red-eye from KUL, I was half-asleep, but finding the hotel was still easy. I could leave my bags there before check-in, which helped a lot. My room was quiet, clean, and felt safe as a solo female traveler. The station location made the trip especially convenient. Haruka, JR, and Kintetsu trains were all within walking distance, and the bus platforms were close too. There were also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and malls nearby. I’m glad I picked this hotel for my Kyoto trip.

The room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet, even though the hotel sits above the trains. Housekeeping did a lovely job, and the staff were very friendly. Being right above Kyoto station made buses and getting around easy, with lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. I stayed eight nights from the first week of December into the second, during momiji season. The twin room felt a bit small, and the front desk came across as professional but not very warm. Still, I enjoyed my stay, especially the clean room and super convenient location.

The water setup was my one concern. They provide drinking water in packaged bottles, but there’s no tap or vending machine for refilling them, which felt like a lot of plastic waste. I hope they add a refill option. We loved the breakfast throughout our stay, with plenty to choose from and a good mix of Japanese and Western flavors. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished, decorated with Japanese accent colors, and had a city view. The hotel itself felt roomy and upscale, with the things we needed in the room. It’s right above Kyoto’s main train station, so there’s no need for a bus or metro to get there.
