Moxy Kyoto

The public area at moxy was one of my favorite spots. It’s comfortable for working, hanging out at the bar, or eating, with lots of power outlets. You can borrow an adaptor from reception too. Our room was spacious for a Japan hotel, with all the amenities, fast wifi, a big TV, heating and AC, and a really comfortable bed and pillows. Hiro-san at the front desk was the best. He was so nice whenever we needed anything, and made our Kyoto-Osaka trip much easier by writing out train routes, platforms, and even a weather forecast for our sightseeing plans. The staff also put together a printed sheet of their own favorite places to eat and hang out in Kyoto for guests looking for local recommendations. They all spoke English very well. The location was great: two minutes on foot from Nijo station and from coffee shops and konbini, and just a few steps from a very good ramen shop to the right of the hotel. A 10/10 stay. I’d come back to Kyoto and stay here again. Love the team!

I liked how quiet this area felt, especially after spending the day among Kyoto’s crowded attractions. Compared with Kawaramachi and Kyoto Station, it was a welcome change. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and Life supermarket is within walking distance. The room was small but had enough space for me, and it was kept really clean. The hotel seems fairly recently built, so the amenities felt new. Nijo Station is beside Moxy, with the JR Line to Kyoto Station and Arashiyama, and the Metro toward Higashiyama. For the price, I’d give it five stars.

The fried chicken and pancake special was a surprise highlight. The chicken was well seasoned, crunchy, and incredibly juicy. I didn’t expect to find some of the best fried chicken, maybe the best, here. Give it a try! The rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of nice amenities. Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and sorted out any questions or challenges quickly. It’s also well located, just a two to three minute walk from the train, metro, and bus. If I visit Kyoto again, I’ll definitely stay at Moxy. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

The rooms were clean, stylish, and well maintained, and the hotel has a modern feel. We really enjoyed our three-night stay. Nijo JR station is right across the street, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff were helpful and spoke English, which made things easy. Breakfast had a good range of choices, and the stay was well worth it.
