We came back to a lobby with self-serve sake and snacks each night, which became a highlight. The staff were gracious and even arranged a taxi for us to go beyond Kyoto city limits. On a quiet, charming street, the hotel is walkable from train stations and surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants. Our clean, beautiful room had skincare and toiletries, a wooden soaking tub, and an in-room washer/dryer. It was a romantic bit of luxury during a long stretch of travel around Japan. One of my favorite hotels so far, highly recommend.

We spent four nights at Nol Kyoto Sanjo and kept looking forward to getting back, even while we were in Tokyo we were thinking about it. The room was huge, with great amenities, and the staff were really accommodating and friendly. You can walk to Nishiki Market, gion, temples, and nearly any Kyoto spot you might want to visit, plus about three stations are nearby. There are convenience stores around, along with luxury and casual shops. They also put out night caps and snacks in the lobby. Stay here!

The room had plenty of amenities, and I enjoyed the mix of traditional Japanese style and modern touches. The hiba bath was a fun experience, and the location was excellent. A few things to know: the bathroom had lingering white marks on the surfaces and could've been cleaner. The western-style beds are firm and aren't quite true mattresses, which some people may prefer.

Nishiki Market is just a five-minute walk away, with lots of clothing shops and restaurants nearby too. The room was spacious and clean, and it even came with a washing machine. Great location, highly recommend!
