We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The price was very reasonable, and our Japanese-style quad worked well, with a personal kitchen and laundry facilities in the room, plus shared versions downstairs. It's really close to the train station, which makes it handy for Kyoto and day trips to Nara, Arashiyama, Osaka, or Kobe.

For our family, RESI STAY will be the first choice next time we visit Kyoto. We booked a Japanese-style family room with a kitchen and washing machine, and the experience was excellent. It was clean and set in a quiet alley near the station, with no noise at night. The staff were very friendly. We arrived to check in close to 11 PM, but the hotel had emailed us before the trip to say someone would be at the front desk to help. That was great.

Once we got settled, we were quite happy with the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious, the biggest of the three hotels we stayed at in Japan. The free washing machine, detergent, and dryer were a big plus. The check-in instructions were confusing. We booked through Agoda, whose email said check-in wasn't at the accommodation but at the reception counter near Kyoto Station. The station is huge, and neither our searching nor asking the information desk helped us find it. Eventually we were exhausted and decided to head to the hotel, worried one of us would have to go back to the station to sort it out. We were relieved to find the reception desk at the property.

The hotel is self-service, but everything else was just perfect for us. The room was clean and very spacious, and I liked having separate shower and tub, sink, and toilet. We had everything we needed, including a kitchen for meals and laundry. Great location too.
