Resi Stay Palace Gate

The fire system malfunctioned while I was there, and the fire police and hotel management came quickly to investigate and sort it out. They handled it very efficiently. I stayed two nights from March 31, 2025, and the friendly service left a strong impression on me. I was especially touched by the Japanese people's courtesy and attentiveness. One of the staff spoke Chinese, and I think he was Taiwanese too. Kudos to him! FamilyMart, vending machines, small restaurants, and a fruit and vegetable shop are close by, so it's very convenient, and the area also gives you a taste of traditional Japanese culture. As a Taiwanese traveler, I felt the Taiwan-Japan friendship strongly and hope it lasts forever. I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance. Thank you, Japan!

We enjoyed the Kyoto atmosphere here, and the cypress bath with tatami mats was especially comfortable. The Chidori-ya amenities were a nice touch too. My family and a friend's family came from Tokyo and had a great time. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, and the breakfast we ordered for delivery from Izumisen was delicious. We'd love to come back. Thank you!

I haven't stayed here, so please don't use this as a reference for what a stay is like. I was cycling past around 10 PM the other night and was shocked to see a foreign couple, a man and a woman perhaps, outside the front door wearing only bath towels. I don't expect this to happen every day, but guests should probably be taught basic manners. Then again, maybe no one would expect someone to go outside in just a bath towel, so perhaps staff can't really warn them.

The interior has a modern Japanese feel, and the building itself is charming. Getting a meal means walking 700-800 meters, though, and the nearest station is far away, so the location isn't great.
