Rinn Gion Hanatouro

I’m so glad I trusted my gut and booked this place, even though it had fewer reviews than the big chain hotels. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, and I had the best sleep of my trip so far. The rooms are huge and unusual, with a tea room, a balcony looking out over Kyoto, and a wooden bathtub in each one. The staff were very friendly, and they provide lots of free extras like makeup remover, cleanser, and foot masks. A hidden gem.

I’d stay here again. The patio was lovely, and the neighbourhood was quiet. Our room was spacious, with a strong shower and comfortable beds and pillows. The place and staff were great, and they arranged our luggage transfer. The Wi-Fi did get unreliable now and then. It’s a great location, a block from Hanamikoji street and Kenninji Temple, and about a 10-minute walk to the shopping district.

The rooms were comfortable and really nice, but the staff were the best part. They treated us like family and offered lots of ideas about places to visit, food to try, and good spots for pictures. The location was phenomenal. When I come back to Kyoto, I’ll definitely look to stay here again.

The room was spacious, thoughtfully equipped, and had modern touches alongside a deep wooden bathtub in ryokan style and a dining room. From the balcony, we could see Gion and the green hills beyond. The staff were warm and friendly, too. After doing a lot of research and comparing options, I booked this hotel and it exceeded my expectations. It’s tucked away on a lovely, quiet side street in the middle of Gion. I wish we’d been able to stay longer, and I’ll definitely return.
