We really enjoyed our five nights in this modern take on a traditional Ryokan. The traditional feel is a nice touch, and the area is pretty ideal. It can be a little pricey if only a few people are staying in the house, though it’s not outrageous. You can also hear some noises because the traditional features don’t provide soundproofing, so keep that in mind. The beds are mattresses on the floor, in keeping with the Ryokan style. That worked for us, but it may not suit everyone.

My first stay at a ryokan, and the best experience! So spacious, clean, and relaxing.

Luxurious, spotless, and roomy, with a lovely historic, traditional feel. The bath was nice too.

Even with nine of us, the house never felt crowded. From outside you wouldn’t expect it to be so spacious, with an open ceiling and even a garden. It was immaculately clean and stylish inside, and warm despite the winter cold. We enjoyed the sunken kotatsu and watched Netflix on our own TVs at night. The kitchen had everything we needed, there was a washing machine and detergent, and there were plenty of amenities. The futons were comfortable too. It’s close to Kyoto Station for dining and sightseeing, with a convenience store just a few minutes away. Thanks to you, it was our best Kyoto trip. Thank you!
