We loved staying at Rinn Sannenzaka Yumeko. It was peaceful and convenient, with modern comforts in a home that feels like a piece of Kyoto's past. The house has three levels, is spacious, and sleeps up to nine, so it worked well for our family or a small group of friends. Shops and cafés line the traditional streets just a minute away, and the famous kiyomizu dera temple is an eight-minute walk.

I've been here twice and really recommend this beautiful standalone house. It's right by Sannenzaka and the approach to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, about 7-8 minutes away, so it feels as if you're staying beside the temple. The three floors each have their own feel: a living and gathering room downstairs, a bedroom and place to unwind on the second floor, and a quiet spot for time alone on the third. The dishes and appliances still look new and are in pristine condition. I do worry it may get hard to book if it becomes too popular.

Make sure you check the cancellation terms before booking. You have to pay in full even if you cancel up to 10 days ahead. Compared with other hotels, the policy is rigid and leaves very little flexibility.

The location was very good, with no complaints there. The bedding was a letdown, though, with stains all over the beds.
