Ryokufuso

The Japanese breakfast was a real treat, and I’d happily recommend it to other travelers. We also had a peaceful soak in the public bath early in the morning, right when it opened at 6am, and I had the place to myself. The room had plenty of space for both our luggage, and the in-room binder explained useful things, including how to wear a yukata properly. The staff were attentive and answered all our questions, even the ones we hadn’t quite managed to finish asking. I’d definitely recommend Ryokufuso if you want to stay at a ryokan in Japan. Thanks to the kind staff for making the experience so good.

The changing kaiseki breakfasts were ready quickly and tasted great every day. The staff were so friendly that they recognized us as soon as we returned from our outings, and the small onsen on site was a lovely way to unwind. We stayed three nights and loved it. There was enough room for our four suitcases, with about two of them open at once. A great choice if you’re after a traditional ryokan :)

The onsen is on the sixth floor, with a nice view across Kyoto, and I was glad to find it welcomes guests with tattoos. The four-person room was quite nice, though the window had no view, which is what you’d expect in a major city. It’s well placed for getting around Kyoto, and the staff were warm and kind.

The owner and staff made the hotel feel warm and familiar. Everyone was kind and attentive, and our Japanese-style room was charmingly decorated and spotless. Breakfast was a highlight. You can choose Japanese or Western, and we went with the Japanese option. It was lovingly made, with a different menu each day and so much attention to detail. I’d gladly make the trip for that breakfast alone. Thank you for such heartfelt hospitality and a stay I won’t forget.
