The free sauna was a great extra, and I appreciated having air purifiers and humidifiers in the well-equipped, comfortable room. The hotel also has luggage storage, which is useful if you arrive early or leave late, and complimentary welcome drinks after a long journey were a nice touch. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful, with a warm, genuine style of service. The location is very convenient for Shinkansen arrivals, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making city trips and onward travel easy. Breakfast was varied and high quality, and well worth the price of around 3,000 yen per person. For the comfort, service, and location, it felt like good value. I'd happily stay again in Kyoto.

Our room was huge, and I think we booked a regular king room. It had a great balcony where we hung out despite the cold, plus a couch and coffee table that were so nice to have when we came back after a long day. The online photos didn't give me high expectations, so we were pleasantly surprised. It was amazing value, just a short walk from the train station with food and convenience stores nearby.

We've stayed at this hotel twice, once in summer and again in February. It's under a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station and a nearby subway stop, yet the area is quiet and semi-residential, a welcome break from the city bustle. There's plenty of choice at breakfast, stylish shared spaces, and free tea and coffee areas in each building. It also has an onsen, though we didn't use it. The layout is very open-air focused, so it seems better suited to warmer weather. The rooms have an American Inn style, with an outside corridor and large patio doors that let in the winter chill. The daily welcome drink is served in the outdoor courtyard, which can be uncomfortable in winter even with the fires and blankets. An in-room safe would be more convenient than the individual safes by reception, and an indoor cafe or other space for winter welcome drinks would improve the stay.

The open-air courtyard gives the building an unusual apartment-complex feel, and the staff at reception were excellent, with most speaking English comfortably. There's a 7-Eleven right next door for breakfast, snacks, or daily essentials. The setting feels peaceful as soon as you step inside, even though bustling Kyoto Station is only steps away. We fell in love with the calm, welcoming atmosphere from check-in. Guests can choose a complimentary drink from the hotel bar menu each night, which was one of our favorite perks. There are also bath and sauna facilities, though we didn't get to try them. Two self-service coffee stations offer free-flowing tea and coffee all day, and the laundry room has several washers and dryers. While laundry runs, you can relax in one of seven massage chairs. It's a beautiful, thoughtfully designed hotel with lots of useful touches at an affordable price. Highly recommended.
