We picked this place to experience a traditional Japanese home, and it gave us just that. The futons were very comfortable, and the bath was relaxing. The location worked perfectly for our plans, with a bus stop about two minutes away on foot and several convenience stores nearby. The staff were so warm and helpful. They kept our bags before check-in and after we checked out. We stayed three nights and had a great time. The washing machine was easy to use, thanks to the instructions.
Our one night felt too short for this cozy, beautiful Kyoto inn. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the house and its atmosphere, and I think it's especially suited to a stay of a few nights. The alley from reception and the stairs inside are both quite narrow, so moving big suitcases could be awkward. The bedroom is upstairs.
Ahh, I'm so happy with this place. I'd come back on another trip to Kyoto. It's Muslim-friendly too, with a mukenah and sajadah ready for guests. 🩷🩷🩷
For my two-day, one-night Kyoto trip, I wanted a place where I could feel the city's character, and I left very satisfied. The room was spotless and so comfortable. Open flames aren't allowed in the room or nearby, including cigarettes and lit candles. I thought that rule was great, perhaps because it's in keeping with Kyoto. I hope the historic culture and building are preserved, and I'd happily stay again. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a restful break.
