The downstairs kitchen and living space are great, with a roomy dining table, and the bathroom and washing machine were nice too. Three AC units, plus Wi-Fi running over 100MB, were a welcome surprise. The izakaya around the corner was a lot of fun, though you need to speak Japanese. There isn’t much spare space upstairs, so our things ended up spread into the hall between the bedrooms. The old-style Japanese shoji windows look cool, but they rattle badly when air moves through. I stuffed things into the frames to quiet them. Construction was happening for most of June, I think, and people started moving things around at 6:30 in the morning, which wasn’t great. The stairs are the one reason I wouldn’t come back. They’re extremely steep, like climbing down a ten-foot bunk bed ladder, and going down them to use the bathroom wasn’t fun.
