Breakfast was brought to our room by a very polite, kind staff member, and it was delicious: fresh bread, fruit, coffee, tea, and yogurt, all freshly prepared. The room had a huge bed, a 55-inch TV, and tea, coffee, and water, with a welcome message that brightened our day and showed how much the hotel cared. The bathroom was very spacious, with a big tub and all the amenities we could need. From the elegant, understated entrance to the pleasant, stylish bar, the property made a lovely impression, and we received a delicious welcome tea from the friendly staff. An incredible hotel and villa. I'll definitely return and recommend it. Congratulations to the whole team, and thank you for a wonderful stay!

The room and bed at Villa Sanjo Muromachi were very comfortable and clean, and it had all the amenities we needed. The hotel is in a great location. The staff were kind and a pleasure to deal with, helping with dinner reservations and local suggestions that we loved. We'd happily recommend staying here.

The best surprise was having an Anytime Fitness close by, so I could keep up with workouts while traveling. Villa Sanjo Muromachi Kyoto is also well placed for shops, restaurants, and major sights, while the street itself felt quiet enough to unwind. My room was beautifully done in a calm, modern Japanese style and far bigger than I expected for Japan. The bedding and all the little touches made it really comfortable. I had a warm welcome from the start, and would happily stay here again. Such a cozy boutique find.

Alex from the concierge team was so kind and thoughtful with his recommendations, and the staff throughout the hotel were warm, attentive, and professional. The hotel was peaceful and quiet, which made it easy to rest after exploring Kyoto. Breakfast was a traditional European-style meal and a nice start to each morning. The room was spacious, beautiful, and exceptionally clean, with one of the best high-pressure showers I’ve had in Japan. There’s plenty to do nearby and Kyoto’s main attractions are easy to reach. I’d gladly come back.

Breakfast in the room felt like a little treat every day, and you can choose to have it there or in the lounge. Our room was lovely and roomy, about 40m2, with a big comfortable bed. The bathroom had a wonderful large bath, a shower, and great amenities. We first stayed at this hotel in 2017, then returned in December 2025 and January 2026. It has a personal feel, and the staff make you feel cared for on a nice street in central Kyoto. Alex at reception gave us lots of useful suggestions, even though we'd been to Kyoto before, and helped us send a bag back to Tokyo via Yamato, which worked perfectly. The welcome is always warm. We really hope to return.
