Stay SAKURA Kyoto Matsuri

The bath was great, and the small kitchenette, microwave, washer, and dryer came in handy, especially for a longer trip. For two days in November peak season, we got a good deal at around 12K inr. The hotel is off the main roads and felt a bit isolated, which might be scary at night. Japan is safe, so it wasn't really an issue, but it's something to consider. Staff aren't there all the time, so you may wait for someone to come help. There was also another door in my room that I guessed might open into an attached room. It seemed suspicious, although nothing happened. At that price, the stay was very nice and worthwhile.

The room was basic, clean, and had twin beds, a kitchen, and air conditioning, which was a plus. The kitchen was usable, though it could use a pot, a silicone mat, and a dish towel for wiping things down. Reception was staffed, and the staff could speak English. You can't expect full soundproofing, but it was fairly quiet most of the time.

The room internet never worked, even after I asked staff several times to fix it. The rooms were much smaller than the pictures suggested. After that experience, I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are much better options in the area.

We had a good stay in a big, very comfortable room. The area was calm, and the hotel is very close to Kyoto Station. The motion-activated lights were annoying, and little bright LEDs all around the room made it hard to get it properly dark for sleeping. I ended up putting stickers over them.
