The in-room onsen was lovely, and there are also two open-air ones, on the 6th and 5th floors. The 6th-floor bath has the better view. They alternate between men and women by day, so if both husband and wife want to enjoy the picturesque open-air onsen at sunrise on separate days, book at least two nights. The staff greeted us with big smiles and were very helpful with our questions. We hadn’t realized we’d booked during Japan’s “Golden week,” from late April into early May, when the nightly price is very high. I’d recommend avoiding that period.
