Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakaiza Shijo-Kawaramachi

The location is fantastic, with a metro station around the corner and only two stops from Kyoto Station. Nishiki Market is just a few steps away, with an authentic, traditional feel that's still tourist friendly. The hotel is clean, the staff speak English, and the rooms are spacious for Japan. Everything looks new and modern. Their luggage delivery service between this hotel, other Tokyu Stay hotels in Japan, and the airport made our trip much easier. There's no breakfast option, but there are so many markets and restaurants right above the hotel that we were glad to have all those choices. Highly recommend for a comfortable, fun Kyoto stay.

Such a convenient, central spot, and the rooms felt huge compared with where we stayed in Tokyo. The in-room washer and dryer were a big plus, and the Refa hair dryer and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were there too. The staff have been so kind and helpful. We'll be booking this hotel again!

We liked the hotel's location and found the property comfortable and very nice. There were some service snags, though. Getting fresh towels was difficult, and it seemed like one person might be handling all the housekeeping, which felt like a lot. Regular room cleaning doesn't happen until the seventh day, so that schedule may not suit anyone who expects more frequent service. The overnight staff member couldn't clearly explain or fix our washer and dryer issue. We also only asked for a one-hour late checkout, but were surprised to be charged per person. A nice stay for the comfort and location, though the service and amenities could be better.

My premier room was much better than I expected, with lots of space, a small kitchen, and a large table. I had an excellent five days at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakaiza Hotel, and the service was great throughout. The hotel sits off Main Street, so taxis can't pull up to the front door. It's only a short walk along a covered walkway to the entrance. Breakfast isn't offered, but there are plenty of cafés nearby. Coffee drinks and sake are free in the lobby. I'd highly recommend the hotel.
