unito hotel residence Kyoto Station North

I was happy with my stay at Unito. It’s easy to get there from Kyoto Station on a city bus, three stops, and the street market is about a 15-minute walk away, or you can take a bus. I took off one star because the hotel is rated 5 stars, so I expected a full set of amenities, like facial cleanser or makeup remover. :)

There’s plenty of room to open your luggage without feeling cramped, especially compared with most hotels in Japan. The bathroom is spacious too, and the facilities were complete and well maintained. On the first floor there’s a dining area, plus a microwave for heating food. Hotel Unito Kyoto is close to shopping areas and the train station, which made it easy to get around. A comfortable, convenient place to stay while visiting Kyoto.

The reception staff were enthusiastic, and the accommodation was great. They also have a free laundry and drying area, which I haven’t found at other places. 😊 One small suggestion: the hotel seems to use Attack Stick soap in tubes that go straight into the dispenser. Some guests may not realize they need to tear the tube open and can spill soap all over the bathroom. A usage instruction would help. 👍

The room and service were excellent. The location was a bit far, though, and restaurants meant a walk of about 600-700 meters.
