Yadoya Manjiro

We loved waking up just a few blocks from Kiyomizu temple, and the neighborhood itself was beautiful, full of shrines. Our room looked out onto a lovely garden and had much more space than we needed. Sleeping on futons over tatami while rain tapped on the roof was so cozy. Everything was clean and quiet, and there was a private bathroom on our floor. Our host was incredibly kind and helpful, even running down the road to find us a cab and bringing breakfast to our room. Such a memorable stay in a perfect spot.

We had a delicious traditional breakfast, and the kimono-wearing ritual was included in the price. It gave us some fantastic pictures. The owners were so welcoming, and when we came back in the evening, they had prepared the bathtub and brought us fruit and dessert. Our room was spacious and clean, with a large private tub and separate shower room. Such a great experience, highly recommend.

The staff made us feel at home right away, offering green tea when we arrived and desserts in the evenings. The cozy rooms are nicely decorated, and the location is great for visiting Kyoto temples. This Riokan is splendid. Recommended!

We used to run to the river each morning, and the location made it easy to reach the main tourist sights too. The surroundings felt dreamy, the rooms were beautiful, and the food was top notch. Breakfast especially was in a league of its own. Service was unbelievable, discreet, efficient, and stellar. I still think about that bathtub downstairs and wish I were there. This is my happy place, you feel like royalty staying here. I wanted to come back this year, but the 'rona got in the way. World-class accommodations all around.
