The owner was great to talk with and shared stories from his own life. He even drove my wife and me to a really good local restaurant for free. I’ll gladly pay him a taxi fare next time. Good price, and I’d recommend it.

If you enjoy driving, Mount Akagi is only about 10 minutes away and has plenty of twisty roads. The resort itself is a lovely place to get away from city life and cramped apartments. The rooms are amazing, the service is outstanding, and the view is breathtaking in person. Photos don’t capture it. Highly recommend.

The night view from outside the hotel was amazing, and I had no other complaints. I also liked having a water server. I’d booked through Agoda for the low price and hadn’t realized it was pet-friendly until the receptionist asked if I was bringing a pet. The room felt a bit cramped with what looked like a cage, though I understand that comes with a pet-friendly room.

The jetted tub was great for easing the tiredness from my trip to Gunma Prefecture. My room had a table and chairs and felt a bit like home. I picked up the key at reception and could come and go freely. There was even a sign saying barbecuing in the central space was OK, haha. You don’t find that service just anywhere.
