The front desk service was excellent, and I think this place works well if you’re after cheap accommodation. But the room was so cramped I couldn’t even fit my suitcase. I stayed about ten years ago and was shocked by how little space there was. The refrigerator is shared, the toilet has no bidet, and its seat is cold. The smart TV doesn’t get regular channels, so you have to connect your phone for YouTube or Netflix, which is a hassle. There used to be a dining hall, but it seems to have closed.

I booked this place in a hurry for work. You get what you pay for, I guess. If low cost is all you care about, it may be about what you’d expect. The room is small, the building is old, and you can hear every footstep in the hallway. There’s no bath or sink. Some people might prefer a capsule hotel near Matsue Station for the same price, or even a little less. The sauna attached to the large public bath was really good, though. The temperature was just right, and the cold bath was nicely chilled.

The room was incredibly compact. Once I got in, there was barely anything beyond the bed, so I wished there were somewhere to put luggage. The shared refrigerator had a marker hanging beside it so people could label their things. There was also a washing machine in that room, and I think a dryer too, though I’m not sure whether they cost extra. This is a business hotel on the outskirts of Matsue, and room quality seems to vary quite a bit. The TV is a smart TV without terrestrial channels. You need to enter your own Amazon Prime details, and without a Hulu or other subscription it’s just a screen. Remember to log out before leaving. I skipped it because I didn’t want to deal with signing in and possibly forgetting to sign out. Maybe it saves on the N reception fee, but buying a TV that guests may not use seems unnecessary. That night felt a little lonely. There’s a large public bath, but I chose a room with its own bath and toilet because I’m not sure about the hours for shared baths and wanted to use it whenever. The room was clean, and the bathtub was spacious and comfortable. The toilet seat, though, had no washlet or heater, so it was cold to sit on. Parking was free for standard cars. If the lot in front is full, there’s a second one next door. The price was fairly good, and I might stay again if I can’t find anywhere else in Matsue City.

There’s a convenience store right beside the inn, the price is low, and it’s near the highway exit. Still, I can’t think of many other positives. As others have said, there’s no sink or refrigerator in the room. The TV is Google TV and doesn’t show regular channels. The whole place also has a distinctive smell. It isn’t unpleasant, but I couldn’t figure out what it was, and I can imagine it bothering some people after a while.
