I chose this hotel because of its high Google Maps ratings, and the hot spring was wonderful. I went at quieter times and had the open-air bath to myself at night. The men’s and women’s baths switch between morning and evening, so I got to enjoy a morning soak too. The building is old, though it seemed well cleaned. Breakfast and dinner portions were just right, and the simple Japanese food was easy to eat. It was my first visit to Asama Onsen, and I liked seeing the day-use hot spring facilities and stylish cafes nearby. It feels like a lovely place to come back to for a relaxing break now and then.

I visited for the first time in October 2025 and booked the standard plan. At check-in, they moved me from a standard twin to a larger twin for the same price, which I appreciated. The room was spacious and very clean, though the second-floor trees blocked the view, which was a shame. The hot spring wasn’t very big, but having both indoor and outdoor baths made it relaxing. The food was generally tasty, especially the beef main course. My one real concern was the weak broth in the miso soup, soba, and chawanmushi. I wondered whether it was a coincidence or just the local flavor, but either way it was disappointing. Rice, miso soup, pickles, and salad were available for free refills, and I ended up eating too much. Service was pleasant, and I felt the hotel offered more than I expected for the price. Thank you.

We stayed at Miyamaso on October 5, 2025, as a group of nine. The food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast, and the hot spring was a very relaxing temperature. It opens at 5 AM. The inn was clean, and there was nothing to complain about with the food, baths, or service. Staff were always smiling and left a good impression on everyone in our group. They were also flexible with the demanding requests from me and my older friends, which I really appreciated. The maitake mushroom tempura soba, seasoned rice, and the grapes and apples served for dessert at dinner were especially good. My companions praised the seasoned rice too, and the pickled wasabi was another favorite. We had a wonderful time. Thanks!

The little touches made this stay special, from the hotel guide and tea with sweets to the towels, yukata, and bathing bag and basket set. I was there for business, but it struck me as a great place for tourists. The facilities aren’t the newest, yet everything was well maintained and comfortable, and the old-fashioned Showa-era hospitality really impressed me. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. The inn is in a quiet hot spring town, a bit far from the city center, so a car would help. That distance also made for a very peaceful stay. In the evening, an old-fashioned band performed in the hall, which brought back the classic atmosphere of a Japanese inn from its prosperous years. I hope they keep this style going.

I stayed alone in a single room, and it felt much less cramped than a business hotel. Everything I needed was laid out compactly, so it was comfortable. The bath wasn’t very big, but I went in three times and didn’t see anyone there, perhaps because there were no other guests available. Breakfast came in a luxurious two-tier bento, with the rice served separately. It was impressive, and I was full all morning.
