The onsen was a highlight, with views over town, indoor and outdoor hot baths, outdoor cold baths, and a sauna. The rooms are lovely tatami rooms, looking out over Matsumoto and the mountains. Staff were friendly and happy to help with requests. The hotel is in Matsumoto’s onsen area and offers good value. There’s a bus into the centre each morning, and a local bus brings you back. Restaurants can be found on nearby local streets for dinner. Thank you, Omoto Onsen Hotel, for a wonderful stay!

Of all the hotels we stayed at in Japan, this was one of my favorites. The traditional rooms are spacious and have Tatami floors. Upstairs, the indoor and outdoor Onsens have lovely views of the city and surrounding mountains. Breakfast was delicious for me. It isn’t a buffet, but a set breakfast box, with two options to choose from when you check in. The staff were kind and patient. Highly recommended.

I’d happily come back if I have the chance. The hotel was very clean, with a beautiful mountain view, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything I needed. There’s a private onsen option for an extra charge, which I found well worth it for the privacy and relaxation. It seems like a lovely peaceful getaway for couples or families, even for a honeymoon.

The onsen on the top floor has breathtaking views, especially of the snow-capped peaks in the distance. The hotel has a lovely traditional Japanese design, and the rooms are spacious. It’s tucked into a quiet, elevated neighborhood with charming narrow streets. Free parking is about 60 meters away. A peaceful, picturesque stay.
