Iroha Grand Hotel

We loved having tea and coffee available all day at the reception, and there were plenty of amenities to pick up there too. The staff were friendly and willing to help. The location was great, about a 5 minutes walk from the train station, with lots of restaurants nearby. Our room had a comfortable seating area and a great design, which made our 5 day stay convenient and enjoyable.

The main drawback for us was the housekeeping schedule. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days, and towels are replenished on cleaning day, so you have to manage wet towels and trash in between. You can request extra cleaning or towels for a fee. We also noticed a slight sewage smell in the bathroom, and the sofa bed was smaller than average, possibly tight for some people, though it may suit petite adults. The hotel was very clean, with decently sized rooms and good lighting. The bathroom had a bidet, auto flush, and warm toilet seats. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the train station, with plenty of food options and convenience stores nearby. The amenities bar had the toiletries we might need. They offered free ramen and ice cream in the evenings, though we didn’t try them.

The breakfast was good, with Japanese food as well as croissants, yoghurt with fresh fruit like kiwi and pineapple, a generous salad bar, and the best scrambled eggs ever. We also loved the free ramen or ice cream at night. The rooms were nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

The service was very friendly, and the hotel was closer to the castle than I expected, not too far from the station either. After leaving Tokyo, we were pleasantly surprised to finally find a room with decent space.
