The free bikes and cute garden were nice, and the location is really good. The rooms feel fair for the price, though tall people might have trouble getting into bed or moving around the house. The towels were very small and thin, so drying my hair was a struggle. Still good value.

Minka Guesthouse was clean and comfortable, with good beds, air conditioning in the rooms, and enough room for bags and clothes. The showers, toilets, and kitchen were all clean. Common areas are small, but there are some, including a big table at the back beyond the garden. Check-in is self-serve: scan a QR code when you arrive, complete the three-minute process, and get a code to enter the property.

It’s a capsule hostel, so capsule fans may enjoy it. I found it really cramped, with little room for luggage or people. There’s nowhere decent to sit, and the place has no atmosphere.

The capsules are roomy and air-conditioned, and the facilities are great. Check-in is self-service and quick and easy. It’s also not far from the station. I rate this place highly.

A lovely little hostel. The people running it were kind and helpful, and there’s plenty of information about town. The kitchen was fun to use, and the free bikes are a nice bonus. I’ll come back when I’m in Matsumoto again.
