Hotel Daimatsuso

The food was delicious, even with the private-room plan. I got to enjoy both seafood and beef tongue. My room faced the ocean, so I could watch a beautiful sunrise. I was there for one night over the holidays. The hotel is old, but clean, even by my standards as a woman, and there were plenty of female guests.

The stay felt very welcoming and comfortable, and I’d love to return if I get the chance. Matsushima Kaigan Station is less than a minute away on foot, and the hotel is close to the sea, which made it a great base for sightseeing in Matsushima. I was lucky to catch the autumn foliage light-up at Zuiganji Temple and Entsuin Temple during my visit. I chose the all-inclusive course. The room was clean, dinner was delicious all the way through, and the portions were generous. The bath temperature was just right, and I also really enjoyed the complimentary coffee at breakfast. Thank you very much.

The tourist boat terminal is only about a five-minute walk away, making this a handy place for seeing Matsushima. I’d worried about booking three rooms in such an old-fashioned hotel, but the staff’s hard work was clear. The atmosphere was homey, and the food was warm and delicious. Everyone was down-to-earth, and the stay became a memorable part of my trip. My friends who came along also had good things to say.

There’s plenty of parking, and the hotel makes a good base for exploring Matsushima. It’s close to the station and good value, too. The food was more than enough, and the hot springs were plentiful and satisfying 😆
