The meal was the best I had during my whole time in Japan, absolutely phenomenal. It was a little tricky to find at first, but we asked a local woman and she let us write there. The couple gave us such a warm, friendly welcome. I also had a wonderfully peaceful rest on the tatami, surrounded by misty mountains. A special place to collect your thoughts.

We’ve come here each summer for the past two years with a big group, including lots of children, and they’ve always made us feel welcome. The food is excellent, with unusual local ingredients, delicious fish, and homemade pizza. One person in our group used to be a chef, so finding somewhere that pleased us all wasn’t easy. The bath runs unusually hot, but it’s great once you add just the right amount of water. We hope to make this an annual stay for as long as the guesthouse stays open.

The husband and wife are both so kind, and the food is incredibly luxurious and delicious. It feels like coming home, with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. I’d definitely go again and highly recommend it.
