Blue Villa Anabuki

This feels more like an onsen with a hotel attached. The location is quiet and remote, and you'll need a car to get to anything of note. The town is under 15 minutes away by car, but there's no hiking or walking nearby. The main road is a narrow two-way lane, so walking along it feels unsafe. The onsen has two unusual features: an electric therapy section and a bath called "flower juice," though I'm pretty sure I read that wrong. Sitting by the emitter gives you a mild, prickly static sensation. I can't say it feels bad, but I'm not sure it's doing anything for your health, and it seems like it could be a bad idea, maybe a heart attack waiting to happen. The other bath is a pool of green water. It might be more exciting if it were thicker and glowed. The rooms are okay, but I was really disappointed by the balcony view. You can't see out over the river, and the view isn't great.

A small, quiet place with just a few rooms, not a big hotel or resort. It's great for relaxing in nature and getting away from Japan's crowded cities.

It's a bit remote, but the river and mountain views are lovely. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the food was satisfactory.

We were taken to the station, and the service was good. The staff were warm and helpful, and the Japanese atmosphere and extensive Onsen made the stay feel special. Breakfast and dinner were good. It was very quiet in July.
